First of all, thank you for your feedback on the survey I posted on Tuesday. If you haven’t yet filled it out but have a few spare minutes (it only takes 3 minutes, promise) you can still access it here!
I know sometimes you may see an item on my blog or another blog and think, “Oh, that’s so cute!” but then you buy it based solely on one outfit and are super confused how to incorporate it into your wardrobe in other outfits or for other scenarios. I am going to try to help you solve that with a segment called Four Ways. I’ll take an item and show you how to wear it four different ways, so you can get the maximum “per-wear” value out of your closet! Today I wanted to highlight a chambray shirt because they are super versatile and you can find them everywhere, at all price points.
Top left: an ideal “work-wear” look. Pair it with a dressy pencil skirt in order to take it from casual to business.
Top right: a perfect “it’s summer and we’re going out to dinner but it’s too hot for jeans and I don’t want to be overly dressed up” look. Wear the denim shirt open over the maxi dress (and roll the sleeves up!)and belt it with a brown belt. Add an earth-toned necklace and some fun sandals for a pop of color.
Bottom right: a good “brunching” look. Casual but still looks like you put some effort in. Similar to the previous look, wear the shirt over the dress with the sleeves rolled or pushed up.
Bottom left: an outfit meant for running errands. Shorts will keep you cool but you don’t have to worry about being lady-like, and a striped tank can be layered underneath the denim shirt for a bit more of an interesting look!
